CI harbor tube session 12/14/13

Fished with a buddy today for some impressive fast action mac attacks!

Fish count: 9 macs landed (my PB 15.5"), lost 3 to poor net techniques lol, 2 Torpedo Jacksmelt, 2 grass bass with the largest one going at 8".

I'm not even going to count the lizards, but they were caught.

Insane size mussel! It made for some great bait and chum for the macs.

Some macs for my friend. I have no idea how he chose to cook them. But, I've had some tasty success by bleeding the fish first, pan frying them, and devouring them with tapatio and lime.

BTW, what's the official rules and regs regarding float tubing in the harbor? I was asked by harbor patrol to leave. The staff's explanation was that the harbor master requested it and that CI harbor is owned by the county. I'm forgetting some bits and parts of what he said, but that's the gist of it. He also explained that I could tube above Wooley rd as that was owned by Oxnard and no the county.

Glad you guys had fun. Wish I could have joined you. I'm guessing the Harbor Master felt you guys were in the way of boats and were also in danger of being hit. I have no idea what the regs for tubing in harbors are but it seems like the HM felt it was up to his discretion whether or not to let you guys fish in that particular lane of water. Kinda sucks. Why does The Man always have to harsh on our mellow? Maybe someone like DR will chime in with an answer.
