So its been about 7 weeks since my "Minimally invasive" shoulder surgery. Even though I am off the sling, my left shoulder is still sore and I dont have 100% range of motion yet. After 7 weeks of no real fishing...I decided to throw caution to the wind and go for it anyway :Big Grin:
My bro and I hit up DW on wednesday morning and arrived at the AO at 7:30(it would have been earlier but the traffic was hell......

Conditions:
Less than 5 miles of wind
Waves were about 3-5ft tall but there were parts of the beach that were only 1-2ft.
Water clarity was pretty good. There was a little bit of silt but overall very blue and green but sadly could not see any beans

The theme of the day was patience and covering as much ground as possible since the bites were few and far between. The first bite I DID get(which was pretty close to shore) turned into this....

A good way to start the trip :)
After I landed that one it was quiet for about 30 min later and I started to lose focus.... As I was about to make another cast something heavy started peeling my line and pushing my drag. I saw a flap of a tail and pop it was gone
From the looks of it, it was probably a big pig but ill never know....

Anyhow, the bite really slowed after those two and I spent the next hour just going around the surf(no nibbles!!) till I caught these last two babies in the final 30 minutes :)

Glad to hear your recovering. Been through a shoulder surgery myself, as well as the other separating from time to time...not fun, but fishable. Pay attention to your body when it tries to tell you theres something a little "tweaky". Dont want to go back to square one. Nice session on the pigs and YFC.
