Christmas Trophy Trout Derby Results! Both Sat and Sun Masters Qualifiers Announced!

This weekend was the Christmas Holiday Trophy Trout Derby and what a weekend it was. Weather man where calling for winds up to 50mph which scared away some of the fair weather fisherman. The winds never really made it up to the projection the weather man gave. Saturday saw winds up to about 20mph but the fish still bit pretty well despite the ever changing conditions. On Sunday the winds backed off and the fishing was really good! Once again anglers covering water or being on the right spot did very well. An absolute gluttony of fish in that 2-3lb range where checked in this weekend.

It was a beautiful weekend with another great tournament at Irvine lake. The raffle after the fishing was a lot of fun, but you didn't get to keep your prizes. With the crowd in the Christmas spirit, everyone kept yelling "give it to the kids". Social pressure can be a heck of a thing. The kids that were there today left looking like Ol' Saint Nick had found them a few days early.

The managers and staff of Irvine lake did a very commendable job of putting on our Christmas tournament.

Fun Tourney today. Fishing was very good for us but no large units. DIS Nice trout bro.. I bet next Tourney you pay the fees. Sucks when you have BIG fish 9.9lbs and huge payday and don't enter. We have all done it bro. Congrats to all the winners!

Yes Travis and Diego where just one and two short of going to the big dance! Travis's came down to time and Diego's was just a day late and a dollar short as they say! A lot of guys where saying what a fun weekend they had. It makes our day to read it and hear it.

It was also really great to see a lot of the raffle prices espically rod and reels being handed over to the kids!

Hope to see everyone for the Blind Bogie Bash out here on January 4th.
