Heard of some Tuna around. The power plant was on for 3 days pumping hot water into the harbor. Tried fishing at the bubble for a hour the other day but only a 10" calico on the first cast. Tossed a LC110 Anchovy then the Kroc. Call Scott at Redondo Sportfishing for intel. He is on the short pier most of the time. Hit or miss on these Tuna since they are always moving. Reports of some larger ones seen mixed in with the standard small 1 - 2 lbers. Best is on a boat out by the bait barge with live anchovies.

A couple years ago there was a good bite in January and reports of some nice Tuna caught at Catalina this month. Not sure what the deal is with the AES power plant. Seems every time they fire up the power plant it only last's for a couple days. I was hoping that with the San Onofre Nuclear plant shut down that the Redondo plant would be running more but that has not been the case.

Team Luckycraft hooking up some small Tuna fishing the break wall in below video.
Why do I call Bonito Tuna ? Because Bonito are Tuna.
Best fighting So Cal Fish pound for pound especially on light gear.
