I don't have any experience with these reels, but maybe a fellow FNNer has...

anyways, various sizes for $24.99 and free ship/no CA tax

and of course Gander has those coupon codes still going for $20 off $100, $50 off $250

code GMH1208

might be good reel for the kids or a newbie loaner setup

They'e not bad. I own a 300x that I've used on my LMB medium finesse rod for 5-6 years. They are light and it has never failed me. A great deal for that price for sure...

Thx dk one less Xmas present to buy. And it is a good deal. Great size for the surf people. Back in my younger days, before Shimano and Diawa the top spinning reels was a Mitchell made in France.

Top spinning reels (http://www.hotfrog.com/Companies/International-Angler-Fly-Fishing-Rods-Gear-Store-Reals-Online-Fly-Shop) are Mitchell made in France, however, Shimano and Diawa also consider a lot in this regard.
