The last two weeks have been a little slow in BU area, I think the final water temp drop turned the fish off from going after fast moving hard baits. Today they were absolutely ready to play.
I fished this morning from 9:30-1:30, so pretty much the entire incoming tide. After previously planning on throwing plastics, when I arrived at the AO to gear up I decided to roll the dice and give the hard baits one last chance after they failed to properly perform at these AO's the last two weeks.
It was a fish on the first cast morning-

I was kind of freaked out because for me a fish on the first cast means no avail the rest of the session.
But they kept going-

I found a trench about thirty feet wide on the incoming tide that led me to about one fish every three casts for about 40 minutes or so.

I took pics of the real fighters.

I left the wide open perch to go to a hali/calico area for now avail. :(
I then returned to my orginal AO. With my casting arm completely worn out, so I tied on my new favorite gulp product, glup squid!
They love it!

Nothing over 14" this morning but a great morning it was. The key to success for me were two things, clear water allowing me to see followers of the lure and in tern dialing in the strike zone and secondly parallel casts! Finding my trenches and making long parallel casts from the beach keeping my lure in the strike zone leading to higher numbers of successful hook ups.
Cheers everyone, hope you all had a great weekend.
