Bored trolling so thought I'd post a report and update it if anything changes.

Arrived at 0530. Gate didn't open until 0610.

Water temp 59.5.

Saw bird action in the marina, but no bites. Trolled west, few strikes but no fish.

Trolled entire north side. Including dams. Nothing.

Went to south side. Caught 2 LMB in Rawson's. Both small.

Now I'm back in the north end. Can't find them....yet.

Update at 1:00:

Just caught my first smallmouth at DVL. What a fight!

Was reading your DVL report as I was doing the same here on Havasu this morning. Birds but not much else. 1 for 2 on hits and he went just short of 7 lbs. Nice grade here. Packaged him up for elk trip Wed.

Nice job.

I just had a double hookup on same rod. Literally broke both hooks in half. Right at the jig head where it's poured.

That's what I get for buying crappy hooks.

Anybody have a recommendation for an inexpensive but good jig head hook?

The last 2 weeks I caught all my Stripeys using an x-pattern going across the lake. All hits were in the middle of the lake at roughly 25-30ft depth. Start either at main point and head east, going from one side to the other (N-S) or off of the pyramid wall heading west, again N-S. All mine came in the late afternoon though...

I picked up some Gary Yamamoto swim jig heads in 3/8 w/ 4/0 Gami's nice & beefy jig head 5 for 3.79 at Last Chance B&T, thanks for the live report.

That's funny cuz I stopped at Last Chance after I left and bought the sane hooks, in 1/2 oz.

Couldn't get on them TO. And only 1 last time. Time to change up the rig and try something new. I'm sure you're laughing. I've been humbled.

no i'm not,i just laugh at the guys who say trolling is just dropping something over the side and criusing around till you get bit, well its way more complicated than that ,espeically going from lake to lake cause each one has its own complicated things going on in each body of water,,,,,,,,,,,,,

I totally agree. Hell I'm just trying to get DVL dialed in. I started out great in my trolling adventure only to get humbled the past few times. It's time to change up my presentation.
