well, with the Mrs. sleeping in like a rock... I had to get out and wet a couple lines, so went off to Castaic dam this am on a solo mission...

got there around 6:50am, and was surprised to see almost no line to get in... clear skies... and NO wind to start the am which was great...

definitely noticed way less people on the dam than just 3 or so weeks ago... maybe cause it's Thanksgiving weekend too, but was happy to have lots of room to myself...

set up a couple rods and relaxed:

there were a few people scattered to the right and left of me, and not much action... the bite has slowed waaaaay down...

but the view and time just dozing off was awesome:

I did manage 3 schoolie size stripers... just perfect for the frying pan

anyways, had a good time out there this am... the winds started picking up around 10am and just kept getting little stronger... I packed up and headed out at 11am.

not too shabby for me

Good update on Castaic dknla... I missed that hot bite last week and was thinking about making the drive up. Now i guess i'll stay local. Glad you caught some.

yeah I think the bite is winding down for the dam at least... now only TO can find and slay them

anyways, I was using bloodworms and those Green Nitro nightcrawlers today... got bit on both... but hey, that's not saying much when you catch 3 stripers in about 4 hours

simple carolina-rig with 1 oz egg sinker and I cast it out as far as I can... using 6# Yozuri hybrid main line and 6# flouro leader with size 4 baitholder hooks...

I think the bite is gonna go back to the usual for me... that is only catching one or maybe just the skunk for the next few months  I hope the bite gets hot again sometime next year again...
