I clip the go pro mount to one of the pipes on my rod holder that is attached to my tube. For my future videos I need to change the angle of camera to get more shots of the scenery and bendo shots instead of my handsome mug lol! j/k.

Oh and FYI if you are planning to make a mount like this I would go with this tutorial
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SzjDXtmMnbQ

Don't make it like mine where I just took the sticky mount and glued it to the clip. It holds really well, but I think it only provides a false sense of security.

Oh and don't forget to add a safety leash to your camera just in case of an accident.

Will do. But you know how strong a Hali is. It's a little difficult to keep a fish still with one hand and the other holding a rod.

I fish, where do you launch the tube at??? Boat launch ramp or way down at the mothers beach area? Been thinking of getting a tube and fish the harbor that way....

Line: 20lb Spectra x 8lb Izorline XXX

what did you mean by this? Did you use the 20lb line as a leader?

thanks

Braid users will often put a topshot of fluoro or mono on their reels because braid is not translucent. It does seem a little backwards to use a lower pound test line as a leader, but braid is much thinner than mono or fluoro of the same pound test. Then again, some people fish straight braid and seem to do fine.

Hi ya Ifishtoolittle,

Nice Halibut ....... was it a legal? I couldn't tell .... hmmm

IMHO seeing more fish in a fish report would be a welcomed novelty to me.

Thanx for the music video and fish.

As GhettoBasster mentioned, I was sporting 20lb spectra as my mainline and 8lb as my leader. I don't usually fish straight spectra since the pilings in the harbor can be very unforgiving to spectra. And, using such light mono may be counterproductive, but nowadays mono breaks at a pulling strain that is much higher than advertised.

Great vid IF2L! That Butt made for a great fishing session.

Thank you sir.

Thanks SP Dan. The fish was indeed a legal, but I wasn't absolutely sure so I decided to let it go. The tail went about 6" pass the 18" ruler on my tube mesh. I'd say it was about 23"-24", but no one will ever believe me on that. But hey, catching that butt', landing it, and getting footage of it is good enough for me.

Cool video and nice Halibut. Keep up the nice work out there and thanks for the report. :Big Grin:

Thanks Wingnut. The butt' is still in there munching smelt if you want him. lol!
