Horsing around on the horseshoe

What a beautiful day chasing rockfish and whatever else on the horseshoe with 4 pals on Jimmy's boat...a good pick of vermilions, gophers, and assorted other rockfish to 3 lbs. topped with a 13 lb. ling...all on squid and leadheads of various types/colors...the ling came on a 20 year old rootbeer scampi on an unpainted jig with a squid strip for flavor...totally old school, and I caught it using a lmb casting rod with 14 lb. mono...great fun!

No, it wasn't an even bigger ling trying to eat it! :Big Grin: It was a swing-and-miss gaff job by one of my pals...attempt number two did the trick, and then I put my heart back in my chest...
