Lake conditions ok for trolling?

Just curious if lake conditions are reasonable for trolling. I plan on going this weekend. I do not have any lead core. Do I need to weigh the line and lure down? Can I just stick with a surface trolling lure?

Water was low and weed growth was prevalent in the flats area when I was there a few weeks ago for cats. Can trolling be done in the flats or should I just stick with areas that have no visible vegetation.

Any info is greatly appreciated.

Based on what I have seen/heard...no need for leadcore, personally I would troll the midlake/dam/West Shore areas with flickershads or cd3 rapalas (choose your lucky color). Just keep in mind Sat. is the Seeker tourney and lake traffic might be a little heavy so watch your lines out there. Good luck!
