Received the text the night before from S.W.A.T Brotha illest and that he wants to hook up in the morn ... :Big Grin: Oh yeah! :Thumbs Up: It's on!!

I arrived at 0530 and was met with a huge smile from my S.W.A.T. Brotha Don aka: bachiboy; who had arrived there before me, .... what a great day :Big Grin: this turning out to be! Then Don tells me that still another S.W.A.T. Brotha Ken aka: skunked4life will be showing up shortly!
I am beside myself now ........... to be shoulder to shoulder and going into battle with my Brotha's in the enemies trenches on "Veteran's Day" ..... WOW!!!
I can't begin to express my feelings boyz...........

So we all split up and head in different directions except Frank and I team up to see if we could end his slow streak!
At 0656 Frank goes deep ... I mean deep into the kelp, going beyond his confidence level in kelp and pulls out this much desired and well deserved skunk buster! WTG Frank! YAHOO!!
http://i1237.photobucket.com/albums/ff467/dancorery/P1000136.jpg (http://s1237.photobucket.com/user/dancorery/media/P1000136.jpg.html)

We were shooting for a group photo but Don had already headed off to rip some lips of some Cali's from the rocks!
The Mo Brotha's! "SP Dan aka: Extreme-mo, skunked4life aka: Maxi-mo and illest aka: Mighty-mo!"
http://i1237.photobucket.com/albums/ff467/dancorery/d64e75cc-c417-444b-aed8-aa8464252022.jpg (http://s1237.photobucket.com/user/dancorery/media/d64e75cc-c417-444b-aed8-aa8464252022.jpg.html)

So to start my day off at 0750, Poseidon decides to give me the bird ...... figuratively! Only line wrapped not hooked.
http://i1237.photobucket.com/albums/ff467/dancorery/P1000138.jpg (http://s1237.photobucket.com/user/dancorery/media/P1000138.jpg.html)

At 0857 I am blessed with this 15" Cali and my skunk buster.
http://i1237.photobucket.com/albums/ff467/dancorery/P1000140.jpg (http://s1237.photobucket.com/user/dancorery/media/P1000140.jpg.html)

So Frank and I are talking away and repetitiously fan casting in all directions when my rod tip got slammed bown in the water and the line began to get stripped off my reel! It ended up being this healthy 20 1/2" Cali and PB.
I told Frank that it "Hit like a Cali and fought like a Hali!" Ha ha ha!
http://i1237.photobucket.com/albums/ff467/dancorery/P1000144.jpg (http://s1237.photobucket.com/user/dancorery/media/P1000144.jpg.html)

Man and fish!
http://i1237.photobucket.com/albums/ff467/dancorery/P1000147.jpg (http://s1237.photobucket.com/user/dancorery/media/P1000147.jpg.html)

A couple of water dog photos! ha ha ha!
http://i1237.photobucket.com/albums/ff467/dancorery/f748831c-410e-44ef-b718-4082a65d0c7a.jpg (http://s1237.photobucket.com/user/dancorery/media/f748831c-410e-44ef-b718-4082a65d0c7a.jpg.html)

And Frank
http://i1237.photobucket.com/albums/ff467/dancorery/83e11ba7-600a-413d-9319-1d2ffecc3647.jpg (http://s1237.photobucket.com/user/dancorery/media/83e11ba7-600a-413d-9319-1d2ffecc3647.jpg.html)

So Don finally works his way back over to where we are; after landing (4) four Cali's, and informs us that his hall pass has ended and that he has to take off .... something to do with his children and Disneyland today! So Don stops to cast one more time for the photo and nails :Envious: a 12" Hali! The first one that I've seen all day! WTG Don! You lucky dog!
Just for the record Don ..... if you ever ask me to hold your stix Brotha .... it's absolutely out of the question!! Ha ha ha!!

http://i1237.photobucket.com/albums/ff467/dancorery/e23c6a9b-95ef-451c-8b2f-f0b5bdfb7d24.jpg (http://s1237.photobucket.com/user/dancorery/media/e23c6a9b-95ef-451c-8b2f-f0b5bdfb7d24.jpg.html)

So Frank and I decide to power fish the the rest of the beach and you already know how this story goes ..... Frank has a need to water the plants and so he gave me his permission to catch the next fish ... Ha ha ha ... he was saying it like I couldn't do it again! Well before he could finish his business again .... I lip pierced this lil' 16" Cali at 1019.
http://i1237.photobucket.com/albums/ff467/dancorery/P1000153.jpg (http://s1237.photobucket.com/user/dancorery/media/P1000153.jpg.html)

I'm hiking back to my S.W.A.T. Assault Vehicle and I captured this parting shot of Frank still luvin' it!

Thank you Brotha's Frank, Ken and Don for sharing this beautiful day with a Marine Vet! OORAH!
http://i1237.photobucket.com/albums/ff467/dancorery/772beb7f-49ed-46dc-943a-7c3a65e4b213.jpg (http://s1237.photobucket.com/user/dancorery/media/772beb7f-49ed-46dc-943a-7c3a65e4b213.jpg.html)

Note: The hooks were removed from the fish prior to taking measurements and before photos were taken, followed by their expedited releases.

Thanx for checking out another of my fish reports! And so this report ends this three day weekend's Trilogy.

Great report once again brotha!
First of all I would like to say Thank you for your services Dan, thanks to people like you, we are able to enjoy our everyday lives, hope you had a great Veterans Day.

With the conditions the way they were, I had to go for round 2.
Got the skunkbuster out of the way pretty quick, finally!
You continued your tear and killed it once again, with a beauty of a PB too.
Glad I was there to see that and share that moment with you.
How about Poseidon waving at me today? hahaha! I got nailed! Another tanker wave came by, mistimed it, and WAMMO! got destroyed. awesome!
Thanks for keeping me laughing and sharing some knowledge with me Dan, much appreciated.

Till next time my friend.

Happy Veteran's Day Danimal! It was great getting to fish with you again, although from opposite ends of the A.O. Looks like you did tie into a beast, but not quite the legal WSB you and Frank were leading me to believe that you had beached. You've done some slayin' over the past three days, capped off by that PB checker. I was wondering why you were asking about the biggest calico landed this year by a S.W.A.T. member. Now I know why. Way to go man!:Applause: You gave me a little more credit than I was due. I don't think that pancake woulda made 6" much less 12".:Embarrassed: Still, it was nice to get out there this morning, much less land some fish. Sure did make for some tough goin at Disneyland later though. Hope to see you out there again real soon.

Congrats!

Danimal!!! Yeah I got the skunk. Yeah, I have had a rough time getting my feet wet with my schedule lately....and yeah, work has been a nightmare these days, but you know what? It was a great day after all! I got to fish with you and Don, AND I got to fish with a S.W.A.T. brother that I have never fished with before! FRANK!!!! Great meeting you and getting to watch you in action!

Now, I have nothing in terms of fishing to contribute and therefore this is not much of a piggy back report but here are some highlights from my perspective!

1. While Dan and Frank were clear over on the other side of the beach, Don and I kept mentioning how we could actually here your voices on our end. Weird acoustics! :EyePop:

2. In fact, I think that we heard Frank's skunkbuster as it happened with all of that commotion.

3. The picture of the three of us was sure worth all of the effort you put in! It came out pretty great!

4. I felt a couple of decent hits but failed to hook up. That's the name of the game. I know it happens. BUT, yes, the bait fish activity is still there and the water was pretty calm and clear (in terms of clarity).

5. Yeah Don, ummm, why you always gots to be holding your rod there??? That's just not right.

6. That is (I think) the rock that I nearly drowned in front of. Dan yells "come straight towards me," and I took a step to the right and under I went. I think that hole was at least 2 to 3 feet deep because I went from thigh deep to ear deep in an instant!

7. Congrats on the BEAST Dan! With all of that yelling between you and Frank, either two things were going to happen: 1) you were going to scare away all of the fish, or 2) you were going to get them interested in joining the conversation!

8. One last thing that you left out was how weirdly coincidental it was that Frank, Don and I all were filling up with water in the left leg of our waders....No, it wasn't :Dog Piss: cause that would have filled to the right.

Great times fellas! :Group Hug:

Always a great post. Always make sure ALL new flags are USA made. A couple weeks ago my brother asked me if I needed a new flag someone gave him (still in plastic). I checked it out and it was Made in China ! OMG What the heck. i told him to burn it.

Thank You to all you Vets that served this great nation.
Always try to buy USA and not countries (like China) that supply the opposition.

Hey Rooster,

The conditions were perfect which allowed us to go deeper than what would have been considered normal!
Frank and I had a blast out there in the deep! It gave us a great opportunity to get a good look at the structure first hand.

The knowledge one gains also builds one's confidence.

Hey Brotha Don,

What can I say ...... I had the sun blinding me and I took a positive guess!
I sorta remember that the last one you caught was about the same size an I was convinced that it was also 12". Hmmmmm! Joking! Ha ha ha!

I guess that I was happy to finally see a hali get pulled up to the shore!

As always ...... I enjoyed our visit and the good times!

Hey Robert,

What would have made each report better is if your had been in them with us!
Your presence, your friendship and your skills are always warranted and are always looked forward to Sir!

I hope that you had a memorable "Vet's Day" my Brotha!
And I glade that you were able to enjoy a bit of this day; with the freedom as an American on "Veteran's Day", in the surf Robert!

I'm looking forward to our next session in the suds my friend!

Your are an animal, Danimal. Beautiful PB and report. Glad you got to share the good times with other bro's.
So, is the stickem ratio changed since dropping that middle treble?
Stix Up,
Sid

Hey Brotha Sid,

The truth be told my friend ...... the larger Cali :EyePop: had broken my hook at the eye-let, right off at the belly of my lure :EyePop:!
I had dentally extracted the broken-off hook from the fish's mouth, .... I then continued to use the same lure with the missing belly hooks.
I really didn't have much confidence in it in the beginning .... but once Frank told me that he had to water the landscape again ...... There was my confidence boost!
I gained all the confidence back in "the lure that lacked" and stuck my last Cali of the day as Frank was pulling up his waders!

So .... as far as the stickem ratios go my friend .........the ratio remains the same .... I'd say.
If the fish wants it ... he's goina take it!

Until we meet again for our next session my friend,

Dan

Hey Arthur,

Ya know ..... The price for the freedoms that we enjoy are constantly being paid for by our brave soldiers every single day.
I am very proud that you are also able to enjoy in the American dream Arthur. I could not have imagined this happening 44 years ago. WOW!
It just goes to prove that some good can come from standing up to what one believes in.

I am happy  to hear that you were able to get in a session in that busy schedule of yours! :Big Grin:
Way to go on the four shorts Brotha!
