Sunday Today is the United States "Marine Corps's Birthday"!.... OOORAH!
Sun Rise: 0621 hrs, Sun Set: 1653 hrs.
Air: 53 - 73 deg, Water: 63 deg, Sky: AM cloudy and later AM clear for remainder of session, Wind: 6-1 MPH!
Surf: 1 - 2 ft , Swell: 0.9 ft , Sec Intervals: 10
Moon Phase: First quarter.
Conditions: Early morning wind making the water surface appear like stucco, the wind died down by 0730 hrs and it became relatively flat and the water became gin clean with a few rogue tanker breakers rolling in now and then. I was rolled by one because I turned my attention to something else, not as important. Poseidon has a pretty funny since of humor at times! Ha ha ha!
Tides: 0600 OGT 3.7 ft, 0700 3.2 ft, 0800 2.7 ft, 0900 2.5 ft, 0942 LT 2.4 ft, 1100 ICT 2.7 ft, 1512 hrs HT 4.2 ft .
Isolunar Forecast: Major Period: 0436 to 0736.
Bait Presence: A few 3-4" bait were breaking the water surface. A few of the larger preditor fish were jumping out of the water in chase of the bait. Bird Presence: Minimal. Water Dogs: 2
Session Duration: 0600 hrs to 1145 hrs.
Distance covered: 3.17 miles. Calories Burned: 863 calories. Total Elevation Climbed: 491 feet per my RunKeeper app on my iPhone 5.
Assault Tactic: LC 110 and drop-shot. Note: All fish were caught once again on the LC lure. D/S= Nada.
AO : aka: Backyard

My Total fish count: A repeat of yesterday's catch: (3) three short Hali and (3) Cali's.

On arrival to my AO ... I was met by this scene. The wind kept changing directions and the water surface looked like stucco.

My feet were in the salt at 0600 and by 0757 I hooked into this 15" Hali on the LC lure. My "SKUNK BUSTER"!
http://i1237.photobucket.com/albums/ff467/dancorery/P1000121.jpg (http://s1237.photobucket.com/user/dancorery/media/P1000121.jpg.html)

The winds finally calmed down and it looked like the makings of a great day! :Big Grin:
http://i1237.photobucket.com/albums/ff467/dancorery/P1000112.jpg (http://s1237.photobucket.com/user/dancorery/media/P1000112.jpg.html)

At 0857 I hooked into this 13 1/2" Cali.
http://i1237.photobucket.com/albums/ff467/dancorery/P1000109.jpg (http://s1237.photobucket.com/user/dancorery/media/P1000109.jpg.html)

At about 1000 I hear my name ... I turn around and it's my S.W.A.T. Brotha Frank aka: illest! :Big Grin: So we got to fish, talk and have a good time together until it was time to go.

At 1045 I hooked into this 12 1/2" Cali.
http://i1237.photobucket.com/albums/ff467/dancorery/P1000123.jpg (http://s1237.photobucket.com/user/dancorery/media/P1000123.jpg.html)

Then I get slammed at 1101 ..... my stix suddenly gets this huge bendo in it .... and almost gets jerked right out of my grip ..... :Embarrassed: . Ha ha ha! .... Frank thought that it was rather funny too .... Ha ha ha! .... my lure was longer than this lil' brute! Ha ha ha!
You can see it in Frank's eyes .... Frank is thinking .... S K U N K B U S T E R!
http://i1237.photobucket.com/albums/ff467/dancorery/P1000125.jpg (http://s1237.photobucket.com/user/dancorery/media/P1000125.jpg.html)

The story behind this next photo is: Frank has been skunked up to this point but needed to water the bushes and so he gave me his permission to catch the next fish ... his skunk buster ... Ha ha ha ... he was saying it like I couldn't do it! Well before he could finish his business .... I lip pierced this lil' 12" Cali at 1122 .
Frank was :Explode: ..... this could have been his skunk buster!
http://i1237.photobucket.com/albums/ff467/dancorery/P1000127.jpg (http://s1237.photobucket.com/user/dancorery/media/P1000127.jpg.html)

At 1130 I hooked into one more 14" hali which was released in the water without a photo. And now it's time to head for mi casa!

Some added parting photos .........

A few under water shots. My salt water proof Van Staal VS-100G reel. The water actually doesn't harm it at all and the mfg actually recommends that you submerse it in clean salt water to rinse away any sand from it! :EyePop: It works!
http://i1237.photobucket.com/albums/ff467/dancorery/P1000129.jpg (http://s1237.photobucket.com/user/dancorery/media/P1000129.jpg.html)

My suspending LC lure from a halibuts point of view. :EyePop: YUMMY!
http://i1237.photobucket.com/albums/ff467/dancorery/P1000131.jpg (http://s1237.photobucket.com/user/dancorery/media/P1000131.jpg.html)

My S.W.A.T. Brotha Frank
http://i1237.photobucket.com/albums/ff467/dancorery/P1000128.jpg (http://s1237.photobucket.com/user/dancorery/media/P1000128.jpg.html)

Near our cars ... some friendly people took our picture
http://i1237.photobucket.com/albums/ff467/dancorery/d8b64f0a-c26b-46ed-8b99-49e2e56ecd6f.jpg (http://s1237.photobucket.com/user/dancorery/media/d8b64f0a-c26b-46ed-8b99-49e2e56ecd6f.jpg.html)

Frank had a leak in his waders and he is indicating the water level inside of his waders. I could actually hear the water sloshing around inside of his waders as we hiked back to our cars .... hearing all of that water made me want to water some plants too ... ha ha ha! ... that was way too funny Frank! Frank said that he figured it at approx one gallon in each leg! I had such a good time with you today .... you kept me either smiling or laughing the entire time!
http://i1237.photobucket.com/albums/ff467/dancorery/P1000135.jpg (http://s1237.photobucket.com/user/dancorery/media/P1000135.jpg.html)

PS ... I also got to hook up yesterday with another of my S.W.A.T Brotha's ... Don aka: bachiboy, it's always a good time when we hook it up!
This has been a great weekend to run into friends .... unexpected! I wonder what tomorrow will bring ... who will it be!!

Note: The hooks were removed from the fish prior to taking measurements and before photos were taken, followed by their expedited releases.

Thanx for checking out another of my fish reports!

Your reports never disappoint, Dan!.. But soaking your Van Staal in the drink really freaked me out..
Nonetheless, pictures do not lie.

So….(and though I hate poaching your idea and then doing you one better) I took all my reels and packed them in buckets and buckets of sand and sea water.. Two days of marinating and into the freezer they went (just a little idea of mine to prevent oxidation). A quick thaw in the microwave next week and I'll be ready to rock!
Thanks, Big Dan, for inspiring me to greatness..

Those VS reels look pretty cool. Love the East Coast style Danimal. Not sure why west coast is all about level winds ?

oh Danimal,

What a day it was.
Great conditions and great company is hard to come by, glad I was able to share that with ya Dan.
You were on fire once again and the fact that you managed to nail the same fish count as the day before is pretty awesome.
About my skunkbuster, dont worry about it, I saw it jump out of the water and decided to walk out so you can nail it, hahaha.
Oh and about Poseidon waving to ya, that was priceless! When that tanker wave came by I knew it was gona get us.
The funniest part was I called it! "oh man, we're screwed" and you said, "No, no....we'll be fine" and WAMMMM, we get DESTROYED.
I managed to jump as high as possible and rode the wave for about 5 feet and landed on my feet with water dripping from my glasses, hat and a couple of liters of water inside my waders. I then look over to you and I see you rolling in the surf, submerged in water. :EyePop: You got up as if nothing happened, way to recover bud! :Envious:

It was such a fun day that I decided to join ya again the following day!
(rest on other report) lol

Ha ha ha! You crack me up Brotha Sid! Ha ha ha!

So tell me ..... how did that go for you??

The weekends approaching fast .... I recommend a slow thaw in the sink rather than the rapid thaw in the micro-wave. Ha ha!

WOW that reel is so amazing. i just looked it up and i was like :-0 ! lol

I drooled over it for a while and finally after going through 6 or seven reels and crappy servicing, I finally made the plunge!
I love it! It has 30 lbs of drag and is always dependable.
I have (2) two and they are both made in the USA. Learn their serial number system before you buy (if you decide to buy).

Hey Martin,

It does the trick for sure! It has never let me down.

I send both reels back to the East coast for servicing once a year and from the date that I send them in to the date that I receive them back in my hands is less than two weeks time, including all the changed out pats being returned to me. The best service I've ever experienced I'd have to say!

Dan

 Report, that is one nice reel !!!

Hey Danial,

Yeah ..... it is a very cool reel indeed!
