ghetto carp'n 11/10/13

Went to hcp for some good ol ghetto carp'n I was joined by a member of fishingnetwork.net Basscatch , he and the misses showed up ready to catch something big ...mrs.basscatch was first on borad with a decent size common carp ...she handle herself well managing the fish with a little coaching from mr.basscatch I was net boy I was next on board with a little quarter pounder common we passed the day catching baby bullheads so we would get board out of our minds ..I was back on the float while the carp rods were waiting for someone to hook up on the bolt rigs I get one on my right carp rod but it spits the hook ...darn...so it was back to the bull pin ...until I see a small bite on my float I question it but say lets see if I have a fish ...what do you know I did I play the fish extra careful at first then give a couple short hook sets just to make sure uts on secure..it took a while to see what it what it was as only we could the tail I say it's a cat no its a carp its a cat .. it starts to show what it was and it's size its a big carp I say it took the lightest bite ever 9 lbs ....i hope mr.basscatch finally got something post worthy http://i1073.photobucket.com/albums/w400/theway111/20131110_095935.jpghttp://i1073.photobucket.com/albums/w400/theway111/20131110_095940.jpghttp://i1073.photobucket.com/albums/w400/theway111/20131110_095946.jpg

Great thread, that carp got has some god handle bars , gonna have to hook up with you one of these days and do some city park carp fish'in.

Sounds like a plan , you have some big carp in your back yard ,I'll have to take a trip up to S.V ...used to get up that way when I was a school bus driver for band comps ...I'll be at balboa tomorrow morning with my 5yr old son

Had an awesome time my lady wants to revisit the spot and still need a worthy sized carp on the end of my rig. Thanks for everything rafael, it wouldn't of been a sucsess wihout your guidance.

That is a pretty cool catch, the rarity of the mirrior carp is awesome, now if you could only find some leathers in socal, so that you can stock mj.

Leathers would be awesome...I would love to get another speices of carp under my belt ..as it stands I have common & mirror ....
