Decide to hit the vine today and forgo the tournament because of the honey do list this weekend. I launched the yak on the west shore in the morning around 7:00 a.m. I then paddled straight out from the dock to the buoy line. I had one hit on the worm the first cast but that was it. No follow up on the hit. Then I continued a few more casts and aimed farther out into 15 ft of water and I got a good committing bite so I moved out and re-positioned. That was the ticket! I landed my first fish in 15 minutes on the power egg. Cast back out into the same spot and set down the pole down into the holder. Then I cast the worm rig with a green chartreuse worm with a homemade scent and then a solid hook up! It is in the net and the bait rod goes off. Two fish in the net and they are real good quality. Re-cast the same routine and the same thing again! Two in the net at the same time I did not have time to put in on a stringer. Cast out the bait rod and in a few minutes number five. I caught a limit of fish in 45 minute of launching at the lake. I was thinking to myself, " what should I do now, I am done! ". So, I took a few pictures of the fish, packed up and headed home. I have never been in and out so quick! The bite was awesome for sure and the fish where fat with good length. Not skinny!
Today I used white and also green chartreuse but not together on the same set up. Also a short 10” leader on the bait rod with 4lbs test. I loaded a few pics. Tight lines and good luck on the tourney! Also ignore my bad spelling.
