Hi all! Hit up NPH Monday morning on foot to see whats going on with my buddy John who is new to salt. Arrived at 0600 to an incoming 6 ft high tide at 0830. Upon arrival the conditions looked great, at least they looked great from my past experience. All in all it was very slow, my "go to" (those that know me know these spots) spots were not producing, so at 0800 we took the ferry to Balboa Is. to get some breakfast and check it out. As we were waiting for our breakfast I threw out a few casts and landed a small spottie near the ferrry landing. After we ate John wanted his first spottie so he got busy workingthe same area!

Hook Up!

A cool shot during the fight.

And Johns first Spottie!!!!!

We walked the north side from the ferry to Jamboree for no more fish. We were on a time limit so we headed back to the area the track was parked. Along the way I wanted to check out a few spots we already worked. Once back on the mainland John hooked up another small spottie.

We called it a day at 1200. It was a slow day but I was happy that John got his first Spottie and now has a touch of the "Spotted Fever".

Not sure why the fishing has slowed, even our winter time spots are not producing, maybe it will get better.

Late,
Eddie

Great job getting your friend onto the intended target! I haven't fished NPH in months! Glad to see there are some fish left there!

Thanks for sharing and including pics! I have been in need of fish porn lately!

It's been tough, I've been out a couple times focusing on lido and it's been pretty slow for the most part

Nice job! The last time I was there the fish wanted a finesse approach. Plastic worms were pretty effective, but it also caught me plenty of small fish.
