Spent the weekend camping by the beach up at Carpinteria

Water was really cold and there was an insane amount of salad sloshing around.

We managed 1 tiny BSP on crack, 4 small Leos on squid, and 1 PB large Thornback (failed picture attempt) on squid.

Not really productive for 6+ hours of fishing but it was really fun to be able to walk to fish from the campsite.

Great time of year to be camping, no crowds, beautiful weather, and surf fishing. What more can you ask for!!!! Thanks for the report.

Carpinteria is a nice camp beach with decent surf fishing. Just bad timing with the heavy salad.
I would give it another shot in the Spring or Summer.

Take a walk. Salad in Carp can vary 100 yards down the line. Next time walk to your right, all the way to the point. Just past the point if the tide is right is great fishing, just watch the tide and don't get stuck on the other side or you will be swimming back around.
