Mike(ironmachin) and I got to the spot around 630 this morning to catch the incoming tide. Conditions looked really nice, minimal salad, no wind, no crazy current. I was using a dropshot setup with gulp shrimp and one of Mike's jigs as a weight. I'm really liking this setup. i have about 18" of line between the weight and hook, and the combo of the 2 seems to drive em crazy. Mike was using a jig with a hegi trailer like a c-rig. My first cast i got slammed and missed it. 2 cast later she stuck. nice 12"er.

yes, that's a circle hook tattoo.
The rest of the day was slow. We had constant small bites up and down the beach, but my size 6 hook and big gulp kept the smaller fish from sticking. We both snagged some shovelnose, and they seem to be pretty thick out there right now. i felt them bump my jig all morning. We called it after an hour and a half.
