02NOV13: Solo trip this time, son sleeping in from friday nights football game and my buddy from Temecula couldnt make it due to foot spurs - so I started late on the water got in around 8:30. Ran into Trollmeister at the 76 gas station and then later in the parking lot and he was getting ready to go slay some cats. Water was around 65, new mud on the shoreline still dropping. Wanted to troll some new spots and planned to stay until closing made my way around the north side area and I hit a shallow spot and thought I snagged by the BR2 I almost lost my rod out of the holder and my drag was wasnt set I grabbed it just enough time, and felt the rod just pump knowing this was fish on, boated Mr. Stripey and into the fish coffin it went. Continued on, metered alot of bait at mid lake point just before hitting the canyons. Came around white buoy and my old backup penn 209 just screamed, this one felt like a DD lots of head shaking couple of times the rod tip hit the water I was thinking big fish, got him to the rail didnt look over 30" but thats okay because his friend in the coffin is not alone anymore. Did more searching, met up with Trolly he was enroute to anoter spot, and then white caps came around and I headed in around 2:30. Trolly was right behind me, he had water in the boat from the waves. He got meat DD kitty. For the short day that it was, the striper bite is still on cant wait to make it back out again.
