Boat Registration --Quagga Mussel Fee

I just got my renewal in the mail and noticed a $16 increase due to quagga mussel fee. IT can be waived if used in marine waters, just check the a box. Anyone else encountered this? Thanks

Yup, another poster posted the same question about a month ago and I'll ask the same question here, other than on a state run lake like Perris, has anybody seen a state employee do any kind of Quagga inspection? Exactly what does that fee pay for?

i JUST PAID THAT LAST NIGHT AND MAILED IT. Was curious as well about the new fee......and you watch. That fee will be $16 this year, $22 next year, $27 the year after,etc.,etc. It will keep going up each year.

Hawgz don't try and make sense of it. Is this decal referred to as AIS? If so it's a program that many states have adapted and when it came to Nevada a year ago I thought to myself "when is going to hit Cali.?", I'm not sure but sounds like it has hit! I tried to figure out what the intent or what you are paying for when you get it and it is real murky to say the least.

If it's the same program here's Nevada's explanation. Minnesota, Wyoming and others seem to have the same program but it seems to be state run. Just another way to screw ya and fill the coffers!

AAA club doesnt have quagga decal, just tried yesterday ...lady behind counter called regional office and they did not know when they would receive them. so best bet register on line or make the 2hr trek wait line at ur local dmv! crappolllla... $16 may not seem alot but then again itll only go up and a few of us out there have own more than one boat/pwc/kayak etc.....

Yup, got mine in the mail today and it had the same piece of bullshit in it too. Lets hear it for the state and Gov. Moonbeam and his group of tree hugging faggots.
