We live in West Covina and were thinking of heading there after 1st couple trout stocks...how is the water looking? clearer than last year?
Hesperia local although I rarely fish the lake anymore. The water is still pea soup green Linda Blair Exorcist color. New management also this year old Ed is no longer running the lake, will miss him. Was there last night for a walk, cats are still coming out pretty good. Mt Lassen I believe will be the first plant with the tailwalkers coming in later in November.
I don't want to jinx it but with water color the way it is and warmer water not too sure about the early season trout fishing. That lake could be great again if they dredged and installed another inlet like they use to have. Would love to start fly fishing again there but the last few years with water clarity issues it's just not the same. If you go I'd use a ton of scent and probably a short leader.
