So these past few weeks have given me a 1-2 punch! From relationship problems to job application disappointments, I just could not catch a break!
What better way to get back on ones feet than by going for a trip!
I grabbed the gear and with my bro we set up shop at will rogers at 7am yesterday.
It was cold
A little cloudy
But the waves were amazing aka non-existent!
My brother headed down south while I went up north. After a few cast with the LC, I got hit by this baby close to the shore!

He hit super close to shore which was surprising since I thought I would get a perch this size a little bit farther out! Ahh well, a great way to start the day!

An hour and a half after nothing but small nibbles I used the Croc for awhile. Still nothing :EyePop: I was perplexed because my bro found success with this bait on this beach awhile ago! Now switched to the skunk busting bait...CRACK!:Big Grin:
I kept getting hit by a few small perch but nothing stuck until I got hooked with this little beauty!

I thought it was a corbina since it bit super close but when It came up...it was a baby halibut! I was excited haha This is only the 2nd one Ive ever caught!

After releasing the baby halibut, I proceeded to catching a bunch of tiny perch xD No more big ones haha
A much needed trip for the mind, body and soul :)

Fish on!!!!

Nice couple of skunkbusters there and great sunrise shot! Flatties are not always as far out there as people think. Way to change things up!

I find that when the world gets heavy on my shoulders ......

that a good ol' salt session will allow me to lower my shoulders, exhale, breath, exhale and just re-focus on something else for a while.
It's like a mini vacation for one's sanity and a re-fueling for one's soul!

Heck ... a fish on .... is like an eraser on a chalk board for that moment! RIGHT!!
Hang in there brother ... many good things will come your way.

Thanx for the fish report!

Ask, and will he not give you a fish instead of a serpent? Or something like that... Maybe you will get a lizard fish and get both!

Hey, halibut on crack is a rare accomplishment. Glad you got life's skunk off for at least one day. Keep it up and don't let the bastards keep you down.
