After this weekend, I will NEVER underestimate the daytime catfish bite....
Had a hectic start to the weekend, first and foremost driving from the SFV to OC at 4pm is NOT advised.....stressed in stop and go traffic trying to get my daughter to a b-day party by 6 and meet up with TaperSteve for the Friday night bite. FINALLY got to the lake at 7pm, where Steve was waiting ready to push off (dude I owe you big time for waiting for me at the dock, thank you). Saw BigDaddy already anchored up at the spot with his buddy RoyalHunter (I think I got that correct) and waited it out for a bit. No bites, nada...not even a nibble for a couple hours and we pulled anchor. Headed over towards Rocky Point and had more of the same with the exception of a short run on a mack head I was soaking. The night ended to quickly as always and unfortunately as far as the catching goes it was pretty unventful. BigDaddy fared better and he was staying the night, so rather than heading home I figured I would join him for the morning/afternoon bite.
I'm glad I did....

Not much later we had a Team57 guest appearance by none other than Rooster who was testing out his wheels for the upcoming troll season...great seeing you Rob!

The bite got as hot as the weather and quality fish continued to come over the rail. The end result...5 fish for a respectable 57lb limit

Last fish of the day a kicker PB blue cat coming in just shy of 17lbs :Big Grin:
