20OCT13 Sunday
Been a few months since I fished with my son at DV, and we decided to hit the lake and do some stripey hunting on sunday instead of saturday. We got a late start after breakfast and got on the water around 0730 and couldnt remember the last time we fished after a full moon. Not too many anglers today, weather could not be any nicer, I showed water being 67-68f, water level still being pumped out. We trolled down and started on the north shore and headed westward. (Fyi-BR#2 is still OOC). Not much excitement until we passed mid lake point when things started to come around.

We picked up a schoolie in the canyon area just after mid lake. We decided to keep wrapping around the island point and head into the saddle dam cove area is when sweet music began with both our both rods slammed and and the drags sang. Son got the bigger of the two.

We proceeded down the saddle dam and before we got to turn on the opposite point and head towards the intake the inboard rod just took off screaming, son did a fine job on driving and netting Mr Stripey around 25"

After that son picked up a little LMB before the intake.

Decided to "go back" the way we came, but Mr Stripey disappeared. We marked some bait balls anywhere from 20-50' pretty much the route we took.We didnt get to troll the whole day-maybe next time, on the way back we picked up another schoolie and a LMB before the 3rd point cove. Trolled the marina area for nothing and ended the day around 1300. Wish I can fish all week, the bite is ON.
Fyi -Marina folks said a couple thousand pounds of browns was planted earlier this week, rainbows will go later this month I think tuesday 29th. Saw a few big bait chuckers out there today too.
