Dave and i did a recon of a new area this afternoon, with these beautiful flat clean conditions, was hard not to take the whole day off. The tide was a bit low when we arrived, and i did my best Arthur imitation of seeing how far out i could get throwing the new autographed edition to anything willing. We spent a couple hours attempting to entice the enemy, to no avail. As the moon started rising, and the sun tried to hide, it was a photo op for Dave, who decided the pics were more exciting. I continued to cast, and caught a nice perch, then decided to return to where I started for a few last hurrahs. With about 15 minutes of light left, i got one to commit, which turned out to be around 24 inches. Dave was walking back, and did a few pics, which I'll put in here when I get them. So, two legals for me for the year, and feeling glad i got out for the ride. We needed a little more H20 in the spot for it to be good, so may try in the Am this weekend.http://i82.photobucket.com/albums/j249/exfactor1/MailAttachmentcopy.jpeg[URL=http://s82.photobucket.com/user/exfactor1/media/MailAttachment.jpeg.html]http://i82.photobucket.com/albums/j249/exfactor1/MailAttachment.jpeg (http://s82.photobucket.com/user/exfactor1/media/MailAttachmentcopy.jpeg.html)http://i82.photobucket.com/albums/j249/exfactor1/MailAttachmentcopy2.jpeg (http://s82.photobucket.com/user/exfactor1/media/MailAttachmentcopy2.jpeg.html)
It was brought to my attention that this was the first legal halibut caught on the new "autographed" lc pattern. I believe the fish never would have bit me if not for Arthur's signature lol. I did a follow up trip with Bill "WWO" to El Cap yesterday. We had ideal conditions, and ended up with another 25 incher, and 3 shorts for our efforts.
