Same here Bob, music would distract me on the water but to and from the lake I'm rocking it. I've heard one cut from the new Sabbath album and i liked it. You're right, those guys are old but can still bring down the house...

ALWAYS have the tunes blaring through my speakers when making spot changes. I'll tell you the majority of my "big" fish have been thanks to Iron Maiden spewing from the stereo. The days where these songs dont get played i find myself having a tough one. so needless to say, "be quick or be dead", "the trooper", "man on the edge" and "fear of the dark" are always in the rotation. im such a retard i have a "DVL Playslit" on the IPOD. a little superstitious; ABSOLUTELY! music definitely grounds me on the water keeping me loose without the fear of thinking myself to death.

Bob is a former drummer. Not sure if he's still pounding the skins or not. I'm a guitarist and still play everyday. I have a home studio that is hard framed using the single car side of my 3 car garage. It's double walled so I don't rock the neighborhood at all hours. I still play out of my Marshall's and they don't like to be timidly played if you know what I mean. Dude, you're a Maiden fan? Funny, after I read AZ.Kid's post, I went looking for a Sabbath vid to post but got sidetracked when I came across a Maiden concert from '83. I saw them live 4 times in the '80's including the tour I was watching. I was living in Dallas, Texas at that time and saw them at the Reunion arena. They were one of the loudest and tightest kick *** live acts of the time...

*edit*

And, like Sabbath, they still are...

I’m from an earlier generation and we listened to The Beach Boys, Jan & Dean, Dick Dale, The Seekers, The Kingston Treo, Peter Paul & Mary, The Righteous Bros and of course The Association. Then the Brits invaded I think they called themselves the Beetles. Good times indeed. A different time that I miss. Yikes I almost forgot the "KING" Elvis.

I loved all that too Dev. My older brothers and sisters brought me up on all that. It was my older brother who got me into guitar playing and when he went to Nam I would go in his room and play his guitar. He had a Fender champ amp and a Marco Polo semi hollow body guitar. Lol, by the time he finished his third tour, I all but owned those much to his dismay. He was the rebel of the family and towards the late '60's he leaned more towards bands like the Rolling Stones, Black Sabbath, Pink Floyd, early ZZ Top etc. etc. And it was he that also introduced me to who would become my earliest and biggest guitar influences Michael Schenker. He went to Germany after his third Nam tour and while there he attended an outdoor music festival that had a band with 2 brothers in it that he said kicked ***. That band turned out to be The Scorpions in their infancy. He brought me their first album Virgin Killer that was banned in the US due to nudity on the cover long before anyone here in that States knew about them. Schenker then went on to gain fame as the guitarist for UFO and then his own group MSG. those days were good times that I miss greatly...

Yip that's him, the man could play it. Got his old vinyl Surf Album, good stuff on it. My senior class hired his band to play at our Senior Prom Class of 1962.
