Bait and wait is very good for stockers but I like walking the shore line using Rooster Tails. I get bored just sitting and waiting, but a bit of Whiskey in my coffee on a cold morning makes things a little better.

I always have liked yellow and pearl mini jigs. So much fun on 2lb test... so light just flowing through the water, then BAM you got some weight pullin on your line. Love it!!!

I really only trout fish at lmv, the past year was really a big mini jig year, they didn't seem to like hard baits for some reason. Of course power worms, mice tails, power bait and other soft scented baits killed it but I prefer to use non scented lures. I get a deal so I use trout trap lures over the competitors especially Lip Ripperz, they use an inferior lead head so I just dodge them but they can and do catch fish.

I can't believe no one said this before page three: Nightcrawlers. God's own Powerbait. If they're not biting 'crawlers, they're not biting. A dozen or more ways to fish them, and everything eats them. Especially trout.

True, i don't like to use powerbait as much any more. Crawlers always out fish them .
just thread them on and inflate them with a small split shot 1-2 feet above

Give 'em a Gold Ribbed Hare's Ear, maybe drop it below a Blue Wing Olive. Nice little Baetis.

Perfect! Or, you can hang a half six feet under a bobber, or take that same splitshot rig and put jsut enough air in the worm so it sinks out at about a foot or two a minute. Deadly when it falls like that. Or leave off the splitshot and put a tiny air bubble in it so it sinks ever-so-slowly. Try that when the fish are spooked out of their wits by all the numbnuts tossing golfball-sized wads of PB.

Roostertail Spinner
Joe's Flys

My current favorite is determined by what they will grab today.
