Fishing Near Petaluma?

Hey there, I'll be up in Petaluma for a bachelor party this weekend. Looking for a place to sneak in some fishing. Looked on google maps and Laguna Lake is close by where we are staying at the KOA. Any info on fishing there, or anywhere else close by? Looked into the Petaluma river. It runs right by the campground but not sure if you can fish it there. I have been doing some googling and see that a lot of folks fish the river south of town down to the bay, but sounds like most are on a boat. We will be shoreline fishing.
