Saturday
Sun Rise: 0636 hrs, Sun Set: 1900 hrs.
Air: 62 - 82 deg, Water: 58 deg, dropped 4 deg since last report. Sky: bog fog
Surf: 2 - 3 ft , Swell: 1.2 ft , Sec Intervals: 14
Moon Phase: Waxing Gibbous.
Conditions:Rough with over my head stealth breakers blending in with the fog :EyePop:, 50 - 50 clean water and brown dirty water and so  I just fished around the dirty. The fog never lifted. A constant fog horn sounded thru the soup. The beaches were so flooded that it kept me at least 40 feet back from hitting my spots with the LC!
Tides: 0600 hrs ICT 3.7 ft, 0706 hrs HT 3.8 ft, 0900 hrs OGT 3.3 ft, 1154 hrs LT 2.4 ft.
Isolunar Forecast: Major Period: 0658 to 0958 hrs. :BFish:
Bait Presence: None. Bird Presence: just a few now and then. Water Dogs: a local mom and pup.
Duration:0610 hrs to 1000 hrs.
Assault Tactic: LC 110 MS Anchovy
Gear: Saint Croix Avid 9'-6" 8-17 lb MF, Van Staal VS-100G reel with 55 lb 8-carrier braided Diawa Samurai line.
AO (Area of Operation): Undisclosed, LA County

I descended in on my first AO at 0610 hrs and fished it hard for an hour with out even a bump! I tossed in the white flag and proceeded on to ascend "Heart Attach Summit" and head to my next AO.

I took a few pictures along my hike to my next AO.

I thought it was pretty cool the way the fog collected on the strands of the spider webs.

http://i1237.photobucket.com/albums/ff467/dancorery/P1000028.jpg (http://s1237.photobucket.com/user/dancorery/media/P1000028.jpg.html)

This lil' Cottontail wasn't bothered by me at all .... he just kept on digging like he was on his third cup of Starbucks coffee!
http://i1237.photobucket.com/albums/ff467/dancorery/P1000030.jpg (http://s1237.photobucket.com/user/dancorery/media/P1000030.jpg.html)

There were only a few of these wild flowers left .... so I thought that I'd capture one last shot before they were all gone.
http://i1237.photobucket.com/albums/ff467/dancorery/P1000035.jpg (http://s1237.photobucket.com/user/dancorery/media/P1000035.jpg.html)

I descended into my next AO and fished it hard, fan casting, dissecting the kelp like a dentist doing a root canal, I worked the boilers tight and all the while avoiding the stealth (fog hidden) breakers! I had one line pull and that was it ... gone! Oh well! I fished here for 1 1/2 hours and decided that nobody was home and that I should head for home myself ... and call it a day!

Bog Fog! When the sun started to rise above the bluff ... it was like having one's bright beams on in the fog .... I could hardly see a thing!
http://i1237.photobucket.com/albums/ff467/dancorery/P1000034.jpg (http://s1237.photobucket.com/user/dancorery/media/P1000034.jpg.html)

So I decided to give up on anything ever happening here today (Yes ... I gave up!) and I began my accent back over the top of "Heart Attach Summit" and once I was at the top I decided to try some new :EyePop: trails that I've never attempted!

I ran in to a lot of dead-ends and I did a lot of back trailing. Bottom line .... the only way out of these mazes of dead-end-trails was only on the one trail that lead me right back to the water's edge ... and at my first AO!! At the personal domain of Poseidon himself! :EyePop::LOL:
"Well"! .... I said to myself .... "as long as I'm here ... why not give it one more try"! :Big Grin: "It must be a sign from ......."!

So I'm wet again at 0900 hrs and by 0920 hrs .... now reeling-in with a broken spirited slow retrieval in the dense fog........ when ...

A legal and 10 more team points! Thank you Poseidon! FYI: The Hali was CPR'd quickly.

Thanx for checking out my fish report!
I'm looking forward to meeting all of the new faces and all of my old friends and family at HG-5! I'll see you there!

Cottontail wasn't bothered by you because he knew that you were in Butt mode! Wait, that doesn't quite sound right! :Embarrassed::ROFL:

See, this is why I can't fish with you Dan, you can't act your age! Most guys my age can't handle Heart Attack Summit more than once a week let alone EVERYDAY! Great job Dan! Everytime you text me, I jump onto the site to see what you caught, but more importantly, all of the juicy intel regarding the conditions! I for one appreciate all of the detail that you put into the reports! Thanks Dan!

Nice going out there Danimal! That's some serious mileage on them hills along with that "left turn at Albuquerque" that you shoulda made. Makes for a great read and very nice pictorial. Wish I coulda been out there with you with another surprise visit from a S.W.A.T. member, but Disneyland was a callin' with the family. Had to put in my dues to gain a VERY short hallpass for tomorrow. Hope to hear more of your adventures soon...if not join you on some.:Big Grin:

Dan, the Point man! In more ways than one, right?

See how life works out. Stop and smell the Roses along the way and appreciate the small gifts, and you can be rewarded handsomely. Another great show Dan thanks for sharing.
Can't wait to get back in the groove soon myself. In-laws leave today. A little R&R for me after that, then get ready for the Biggest Surf Event this side of Albuquerque,,,,LOL See ya real soon buddy.

Thank Brotha Ken for the INTEL feedback .... I wasn't sure if it was too much for some.
I look at "Heart Attach Summit" :Big Grin: as my work out .... it's cheaper than joining a gym and it can be more satisfying at times!
When I'm not trying to catch my breath ... I'm dodging Rattle Snakes! Either way .... it keeps me moving! I put in between 2.5 and 3 miles; including hill climbing, when I visit this AO. :Big Grin:

:Big Grin: WOW !!! Nice catch, you have been on a roll lately.

Hey Danial,
Now .... if I could just land a legal every session :Big Grin: ............. maybe that's too much to wish for! :Rolls Eyes:

Way to go Dan.. Persistence pays off even when it's unintentional. Well done..

JerryGHey Jerry,

I just hate :Crying: to quite ...... so when I dig deep down inside myself, I seem to always find many good reasons why not to quite and to push on! Also, having luck on your side is not a bad thing!

Yes .... it's been a long time since that day at Pt. Dume!
I hope to see you at the HG-5!

Hey Don,
You do realize that the Castle has a nice sandy beach and a mote stocked full of :BFish: feesh! And don't forget about all around "Tom Sawyer's Island" ...... the local tribe has been surviving there since I was a lil' boy! PS ...They'll :EyePop: scalp ya if they catch cha!

I'm looking forward to hooking up with you at the HG-5!

Hi Brotha Robert,
Thanx.
The water up here has been  fluctuating up and down approx 5 degrees from 58 to 63 or so. The high surf has also made it interesting to fish! Everything is flooded over!
See ya at HG-5 Brotha!

Hi Arthur,

I may not be as good as I once was .... but I'm as good now ... as I've ever been! :Big Grin: I'd say ... I'm not in too bad of shape for being in my 60's!

When I was your age .... I would have double-timed up "Heart Attack Hill" ... while carrying "you" plus an additional 90-lb pack on my by back!

OOH RAH!!

There is one thing that I am certain of these days.... I may not win the race ever again ... but I will always get to where I'm going .... eventually! Ha ha ha!

We just need a one more BIG point making weekend and maybe we can catch the other team's point lead on us ... eh?!

We'll see you at HG-5 Brotha!
