Poles up @ 6:45pm
Fish caught: 5
SUMMARY OF EVENTS:
This past weekend, I headed down to San Diego to support of friend of mine from my college days who just found out he has prostate cancer. So without hesitation, I took a few days off, packed up my Tahoe and grabbed my (soon to be) 8-year old daughter and drove to San Diego. We stayed at the Pacific View Inn in Pacific Beach... just steps away from the sand. The view was amazing. My buddy wasn't in town yet, so I asked my daughter what she wanted to do... "I wanna go fishing!". Bless her heart she learns fast! So we walked all 2 blocks to the Crystal Pier.
THE RESULTS:
Jordyn KILLED it, catching a Shovel Nose almost 60 seconds after I dropped her line in the water. However, it wiggled its way free as it peaked the surface. Oh well. About 20 minutes later, she's reeling in a nice sized BSP and then another. Then she caught and landed a SNGF... a good-sized one too, caught on 8lb P-Line. Then she caught a couple of small baitfish, nothing to really write home about. In total, she reeled in 5 fish in the couple of hours we had to fish. I on the other hand... not so lucky. I caught nada... but I'm glad she did and that made me happy. Then it was time to meet up for dinner with my friend... the sunset was amazing and we got to watch the entire thing from our room.
