Hey fellas, heading up here to fish for a coupe of days, looking for trout and maybe some catfish action. Any tips for the lake and how is the bass bite, wanted to throw in a couple of lures if possible.

My advice would be to avoid going to Big Bear Lake on Labor Day Weekend unless you enjoy traffic, long lines and tons of people water skiing and jet skiing. Go Tuesday after the holiday.

I've had fantastic days fishing in the crowds of BBL even holiday weekends weaving in and out of party barges stripping streamers. Hopefully you have a boat or tube, if so concentrate over by the dam in the 5mph zone, outside of the 5mph zone or trying to find a shore fishing spot Viejo is correct if it's nice weather it will be like a suicide mission!

Get a boat and head over toward Garsten Island and Papoose Bay, the dam, and along north shore up to West Ramp. If shore fishing, throw powerbait or crawlers on a slip bobber anywhere from 8 to 15 feet deep. There will be lots of people there, but there will be lots of peeps everwhere! So whatcha ya going to do? Jenks, Gvl, and Gregory will all be stacked with people like sardines. So go where you wanted to go and don't regret not going. Just enjoy the weekend! You're just lucky to be out there wettin the line!
