BobberBoy's Great Catnappin Caper!

I'm trying to get caught up on reports after limited internet access the past month, but I definitely didn't want to let the summer Irvine reports get away from me.

If you haven't been catfishing at Irvine this summer, the bite is just getting started and it has been great for over a month now from what I have experienced. Each time I've been out this year, I was lucky enough to crank the handle on a few fish....and then some! :Secret:

A few weeks back John aka BobberBoy hit me up and wanted to get in on some of the cats....inked a Saturday and grabbed a boat. Got a hot tip from Irvine Lake staffer "Lee" while chatting on the porch and it has paid off for almost a month now....thanks for showing that Irvine Lake is "the lake that wants you to catch fish" :Thumbs Up:

Set off with first mate John and told him I had an ace up my sleeve, so lets just scout around first and see whats crackin before the sun went down....at that point we followed John's beard off to the first spot! :LOL:

Settled into spot #1 and watched the sun go down on another perfect day....

After a bit we ready to "get bit" so we hit what would eventually be the last spot of the night. The bite took a little while to get dailed in, but we managed a few before closing time. John had the hot stick with 3 fish to my 1 and we both mised a few bites as well....it was BobberBoy's night for sure landing this little piggy!

Great report TD. Love the photos. Thanks for sharing and nice to see you back on line.

I will be out again Thursday night. Last Thursday night we had an epic adventure. If I could get into anything close to the action we had
last Thursday I would be very happy.

Kind of concerned about the full moon. I know some anglers shy away from fishing on the full but I have had so many great fishing trips on a full
moon I'm not sure it matters or not. I will be going anyway !!

Went out last Thursday in the flats for a few bites and 2 fish landed. Kind of slow but went out again Friday and brought home 15 between the 2 of us with at least 6 released. 3 fish over 7lbs, 1 over 11lbs and a mix of 3-5lbrs. Only two were "stocker size." The vine continues to put in quality fish

All on flylined mack and/or shrimp
