With the report from CB on Friday castaic was not worth the 3 hour drive so we headed north to new hogan lake. Started our troll at 5:45 very little light but why not we are already on the water. Before we left the dock another angler launching his boat told me if the stripers are not boiling we prob would not catch any today because that lake is hard to catch stripers. What he did not know is I have takin the striper trolling 101 class from bob. First fish hits our lines at 6am sharp.

We saw one boil today but before we could get there 4 boats crashed the boil. So we drop rigs back in and continue to troll. We ended the day with 16 in the dead well and threw back 4 really small dinks.

The DoubleA pearl rig did most of the damage today.

Nothing big but a lot of fun

Right on DK! At least you saved yourself a drive. Well you prolly would have caught more at Castaic but at least you did an exploratory.

Great job trooper!

CB boat ran great. MO real soon. DA the night bell action was a disaster that's why I did not mention it. We had 7 hits and we mist them all. I don't know how to bait fish anymore. Lol

Looks like you and Andrew did really well, funny how people tell you what is going to happen......maybe to them, LOL......Keep up the slaying, maybe I will see you at Castaic sometime soon......................Dave

You can fish this lake at night as long as you get there before 9pm. We got there the night b4 and slept on the water.

Thats allot of fish keep fishing :D I can't wait to go fishing again.
