Myself, Rich and Robert did an offshore trip last Tuesday. We launched at Dana Point and were in the area of the 267/279 by grey light, our destination was the 209. We got down to the 209 and found good conditions so started looking for pattys. First 3 or 4 had nothing but bait, which was good because our bait from Dana Point Bait was rolling fast. So Robert got rid of all the bad bait and we made a ton of perfect sized mini macs. Around 8 or 830 we found a nicer patty and first 3 bait in the water got hammered. We fished that patty for about 2 hours and ended up with 10 yellows from 10lbs into the 20's and lost 4 or 5. After that we we stayed inside the 209 and went south then west then north then south and never found anymore fish so we headed inshore to drift for hali. The condition nearshore are horrible, thae water is cold 61-62 and very off color which you will see in the pics. Ended up doing 100 miles round trip.
