i know this sounds made up but his first trip to the cooler, he took my sister bear claw breakfast, went about twenty feet away and sat and ate it. Then he returned for the tortillas, oatmeal, and the Rest of the food in the cooler. At first, i couldnt but laugh that a bear stole a bear claw, lol
Next time maybe cooler goes in the bear box?

the cooler was in the bear box all night. I woke up, pulled the cooler out, and started my coffee. i didn't think i had to worry about it during the day, while i was up and around...

ha we left multiple coolers out when we went in June, no bears but we sure got an earful from "mr ranger sir"

I have a similar picture.
Only that the bear is my father, who is opening up the cooler for his morning beer to shake off the hangover he had.
the cooler was in the bear box all night. I woke up, pulled the cooler out, and started my coffee. i didn't think i had to worry about it during the day, while i was up and around...
Especially at 4 Jeffrey's not exactly a hotbead for bear activity. Yup next time I go I've learned from you, lol!

We always leave our coolers out when we are around. I never thought one might come and join us for breakfast.

When we went to King's Canyon last month, we left coolers out that just had beverages in them and left the coolers out by the bear box while we were 10ft away and the rangers lit us up!
Last year we left just beverages and forgot about a bottle of bbq sauce. Woke up to a bear going to town on the bbq and then he had himself a drink, good thing we didn't leave beer out there don't think a drunk bear would be a very good thing!
I had a Bear do the same thing to me at upper twin lakes (mono Village). Drank my BBQ sauce and ate all my tortillas.
Took a 3lb trout out of the Ice chest i was going to cook for Dinner
