Henshaw tips?

Heading out to Henshaw with a buddy on his Jon Boat. Never Rod/Reel fished there, just Bowfishing. We will be Rod/Reel fishing it this time. Any tips for Henshaw? Targeting Cats and Crappie most likely.
I rarely Rod/Reel fish, but want to give it a go cuz I've heard good things about Henshaw
