Lake piru

Here's a report from a recent trip
Up at the lake. The morning was
nice with no wind, with the lake
Really low it was time to look for
Shad balls. Found a spot in 25 ft
Of water with some slabs mixed in
Fished it hard all morning for five
Fish, curlytails in the wht and green
With no nibble. Lol.. Was working,,

I'm thinking the launch will be back
In the mud real soon and the hump
In the middle of the lake might be
Present when they start feeding the
Farmers;

I used to love crappie fishin' @ Piru. Anyone remember "Crappie John"? He made the best crappie jigs! I still have a few. Green and white was the color for me @ Piru. Now I fish for crappies in the "IE". I've had a great season so far. Back at it tomorrow!

Wow! I met Crappie John at Lake Henshaw about 8 years ago and I also have some of his jigs, Great guy!
