Never fished in San Diego before, finally got a short chance a few weekends back. Spent a little time fishing near one of the piers and landed a mess of small barred sand bass. These little guys put up a fun fight on ultralite gear. Tossed micro jigs for 'em on 2lb mono near the jetty, they hammered 'em. Didn't see anyone else catching fish, although a lot of guys throwing big spinnerbaits and swimbaits. Gotta go back, this salt thing is addicting!
