Went with iFishTooLittle for my first Light Rock Fishing (LRF) shore trip at a local SoCal jetty yesterday. LRF is basically ultralight tackle with long, sensitive rods, and tiny lures for all species that will bite in the salt from the shore. More at the bottom.

Anyway, weather was pleasant, very little chop on the water, and the water vis was 3-4ft or so. The fish were tight to cover but we managed to land 8 small spotted and calico bass over the course of a few hours. Definitely an interesting way to fish and something I hope to try again soon! Special thanks to iFishtoolittle for the trip and intell!

Quick tidbit on LRF:
Light Rock Fishing (LRF) , is a modern ultra light lure fishing style born by Japanese anglers and introduced to the UK a few years ago via a group of Bass fishing guides from the Jersey Isles who were looking for a way to increase their fishing season once the Bass fishing tailed off around November.
Countless hours of research ensued as they tried to translate information from Japanese forums and videos on Youtube in the quest to gain more knowledge about this exciting new method. Over the last 2 years there has been a rapid growth in the UK as more and more anglers want to sample this no stress, multi species, lure fishing fun.
