Friday night 6-15 This is what I found.

I fished for cats Friday night. The weather was great for fishing. I arrived at the lake around 4:00 p.m. then I went over to the flats. There was a good amount of boats already in the area so I fished away from shore in the center of the lake. I had mackerel, shrimp and liver for the bite but it just did not happen tonight. It was slow for me. I got one hard bite that made the clicker on my reel scream for a few seconds and nothing. I moved around to a lot of different area trying to find fish but came up short last night. The weeds are fairly thick but I do not know if close to shore in the weeds is the place to be for the bite. Maybe I will try that area next time. About 8 p.m. I anchored down in a spot and fished for about a 1 ½ hours and watched the trout take surface bugs which was cool! Yea! The trout are alive and well. I had one about 4lbs rise next to my boat and stayed on the surface for a few seconds.
I moved around that spot into deeper water and was seeing strange structure on my fish finder which
Caused me to be curious about it. This is what I found. I hope it is empty because I know there is road at the top of the mountain and a long steep drop. I think it is a old pick up truck. I looks like a 70's model. I think?

Did you report it to the lake management and/or local PD / Sheriffs? They might be interested to go have their dive team take a look if they haven't been there before.

T.D. & F.D. I hear what you both are saying. I am going back during the," King Of Cats" and I will give it a better look if possible. Hopefully inside the window. I would rather take a closer look before going the the lake mgmt or P.D. Maybe a record catfish will be inside instead of old bones. At least I know now where all my equipment got stuck on during trout season.

Is that just west of trout island? I lost a few lures, and not where that underwater fence is at.

It is on the west side of the lake across from trout island. About 30 ft deep. No good way to explain the exact location. I would have to find it and maybe gps the area.

theres a sunken boat about 200 yards directly east of the point on trout island. very cool to see it in detail on the side scan. id like to see that truck too

One of the lake employees told me a few months ago that a Toyota truck went into the water a few years ago.
