Went out with a buddy for the catfish opener.
Rented a boat and got to the spot around 4pm or so.
Left spot around 830-900pm....
Was crazy good.
I ended with 15 landed - snapped off a couple
My buddy ended with about the same.
The size and quality of these cats were like nothing I have ever seen from a stocking.
Truly impressive. Most fish over 5lbs, largest fish was over 10.
I was using shrimp, macbites, and even some mealworm+marshmellow.
Hot bait varied as time progressed, but shrimp was best producer for me.
This was in the hot spot that is reported elsewhere on this forum in the back near the shore.
The patrol boat come out around 5-6pm or so and pushed us all back from the shore as many boats were crowding the shore big time.
I caught 12 of the 15 by then....
Was a great time! Sorry for the lame pictures, I was pretty exhausted from reeling in those strong cats !!!
