I just got a new fishfinder but have a question on battery. I do not have a trolling motor and i am only running the 1 battery for starter. Will hooking the fishfinder up to this battery be okay or do I need to get another battery just for the finder? I don't want to be out in the middle of the lake and not be able to start back up.

Most boats come from the factory with the electronics wired to the main battery. I have three batteries, two for the trolling motor and one for the motor and electronics and I have two fishfinder's on all of the time and have never had a problem. My main battery is a high quality (expensive) battery, do not cut corners on your starting battery, buy only the best.
