recape of clearlake catfish derby and over 1000# of kitties

went to clearlake catfish derby this weekend started fri noon ended sun at noon, we launched at 7 am and headed to our spot looked around found a spot we thought looked good and dropped anchors and got ready and waited 4 hour tell start time at noon. while we waited boat after boat showed up by noon hour about 25 boats in area.

the noon hour comes and you can see every one casting there lines out and within 5 min 5 people are hooked up including me first fish come in at 12.7#

over the next couple hours some one was hooked up fighting a fish.

we fished hard looking for the one that would win this derby as night come boat after boat leave as it was windy and cold but not us we are in it to win it. we anchored on Friday and did not pull up anchor intell sunday at 11am. after first 24hours 48 fish hit the deck.

it was windy windy does not look like it in the pictures as we was behind rattlesnake island. but look out on open water WHITE CAPS

for 47 out of the 48 hours we had a line in the water looking for that big fish and my biggest came at 6:20 am sunday morning.

our total for the 2 day derby was 88 fish with an ave of 12.2#, smallest 8.6# largest 20.10#, how do I no. we kept a log of every fish because we set a goal of 1000 pounds and the only way to no was to keep a log, and we did it 1073.6 pounds
