View Full Version : Back stabbing the L.A. River carp

Used a yellow back stabber fly I hand tied only 1 carp bit today, had a big audience today there was a group of people cleaning up the river which was cool. Had some paparazzi wanting to take pictures of us lol, One of the ladies invited us to a small boat event on memorial weekend where small vessels will be allowed to ride down the river legally for that weekend only.

Nice! You got a dry pic of that fly? Looks quite a bit like a clouser but more "buggy".

Haha yeah does look like a clouser ill post one up still my back stabber looks slightly different it's a mix between a stand up nymph and a backstabber

I'm gonna have to make my way north ...hope to run into you ....I want to fish the marsh park area ...any intel on it.....congrats on the river carp ....carppie star :LOL:

nice carp! must have been a blast on the fly! you have any tips on catching lake carp on the fly? i have had one, farmed another, both at lake Gregory and i have gone on targeted carp trips like a dozen times... any help would be nice lol.

Good Huntingon lakes I have only got them when the carp are on top cruising with weightless Woolley buggers but have yet to get one feeding off the bottom

Nice catch! Congrats! Haven't read any reports from you guys for a while and I was wondering if you still fish else where since Puddingstone has been slow for a few months.

Hey fishing queen how are you? Yeah we have been fishing still, been real busy tying flies for my ebay customers which takes away my posting and fishing time. We have been fly fishing other spots just been to busy but I'm all caught up now and hope to post more reports soon. Thanks for following my post we always look forward to your reports also.
