Hello, Today I made a trip to my local DMV to register my project boat. During the transaction the lady told me before we continue with the paperwork I had to go to the Los Angles County Assesors office. I did my research and the're pretty much going to charge some sale tax on the boat that has to be paid yearly. I dont know if the're going to base it of assesed value or what I paid for the boat. My paperwork says 500.00$. So im hoping thats the number they base it out of. I've owned 3 boats in the past and this is the first time the charge me this. Has anyone ever dealt with this? What were ur fees like?

Thanks.
