Tomorrow I launch into Plan B = Surf Fishing for the first time since Plan A didn't work so well.

Maybe you recall Plan A was trolling for halibut in Mission Bay after the MLPA closed my
favorite lagoon to fishing. i did catch a short and a bonita but, I could not control
the speed and direction of the troll at Mission Bay since they do not allow trolling motors
on the rentals.

So PLAN B BEGINS TOMORROW MAY 11TH SATURDAY.

Weather forecast: 78 degrees
Wind: 9 mph WSW
Low Tide: 5 AM roughly
High Tide: 11 AM
New Moon: a few days ago.
Surf: 2 feet

Went to Angler's Tackle yesterday and bought 30 pound spectra braid in dark green.
A braid snip on a retractable string.

Just have to find my sunscreen, a towel on a string, and at least 15 dollars or
more lunch money and a trash bag.

I drive a white '81 mercedes coupe sedan and will wear a NY Yankee hat or maybe
a better shade but stupid looking sun hat.

Say hello or pm if you are out tomorrow.

First time on the surf. Didn't seem like a lot of fish in the water. I caught a barred surf bass. Greenish. 3 strips. Red eyes.

Thinkin most fish Probably had a tummy full of grunion.

Didn't fall but Understanding have to shuffle feet or will step on a big rock or in a hole.

Thinking I should of matched the hatch i.e. run some grunion colors. Very impressed with being out fished on same morning.
There is a lot of skill involved in this.

Don't worry AW, Your in the right place to learn how to get it done. Time on the water and reading between the lines in reports will help.
Keep going and before you know it things will fall into place.
