Hello all. Been a member for not too long and this is my first post. I just wanted to give you guys a report on my fishing trip with my coworker and a couple of his friends a few weeks ago here at Pyramid. It has been almost 15 years since the last time I was fishing here. I have been hearing rumors of people catching decent amounts of stripers and just had to check it out myself. I left my place in Cerritos at 3:30am and headed straight over to the buddy's house. The plan was to meet at 4 and hit the road shortly after that. Wishful thinking that was. A few guys were late so that caused a delay. My coworker was the one to tow the boat and he was late. We did not hit the road until almost an hour later. In any event, we got to the gates at 6:30 right when the gates open and was in the water by 7. Took a small ride out to the "spot" and starting setting up. The bait of choice was fresh dead sardines caught earlier on in the week. As I stated earlier, I haven't been to this lake in quite some time and was pretty skeptical of the cut bait method. Based on this forum and a few videos; plastics, lures, and the assortment of jigs/rigs on the troll were often what I saw that was effectively catching them. Here goes nothing. First line was in the water, then slowly 8 more. We soaked the bait for no more than 15 minutes and had our first hook up. Success! Targeted species acquired. Then for the next 3-4 hours, it was a consistent bite every 15-20 minutes. The bite slowed down during the lunch time hour but picked up again around 2pm. All in all, it was limits for 5 anglers. All the fishes were in the 2-4 pound class. Not too bad and made me a believer in cut bait at Pyramid.

Going to take my dad and his friends out this weekend.

Best regards and tight lines.
Joe.

Good start to the day and a promising outlook on catching limits.

and here is the total catch and limit for 5. We ended up catching 3 nice size kitties as well.

It was from shore. We just needed the boat to get us to that location and once there, we fished from shore.
