Ha! Don't remind me man! The fishing gods were kind to me today after yesterday's pain and suffering. I caught the first one at the same spot where we spoke yesterday.

Nah, it's just a beater reel even though I do clean it regularly. Plus I need an excuse to by a new Lew's that I have my eye on!

What's the purpose of rigging the fluke upside down. Just asking

Idk with the bigger hook i always put it so the hook sits in the slot on the bottom of the fluke. Felt like it might help to not get caught up on stuff lol

The action is also different when rigging it upside down. It's a little known secret. :Secret: Well not really but not too many people do it. Works great in the Fall on the fall! It will flutter different. With the magnum it's not such a difference but with the super it is more noticeable. Now you know! Believe it or not, sometimes rigging it sideways is deadly too for certain situations and presentations.

i love using the mag when its WFO. initially i thought it would help weed out the smaller ones but it doesn't really. i still catch dinks with the mag. if the fish are biting short then the mag will only make it worse cuz its longer-obviously. i still throw the mag with the idea that a big lure = big fish. if you have success with the mag be sure to post.

i too have also noticed that depending on how you rig the fluke you get different action out of it. i sometimes purposely rig it off center to get the twisting fall.
