What line to use

I'm going fishing on the Sacramento River near Redding. I will be fishing from a drift boat. My question is, what kind and size line should I use for trout? Thanks.

You're not fishing flies now are you? If you're spinning then I would stick with four/two lb.

No, I'll be fishing with spinning gear. I do have a fly rod that I might try which is a #5 weight. Thanks.
