Went out Sunday am for a few hours... I had to be home by 11 so I decided to work boat dock cove
ON at 630
OFF at 1030
Phenix elixir
Shimano Stradic Ci4
Maxima 3lb mono
Sierra Slammers mice tail, mini jig, swim bait...All dipped in BITE ON roe/garlic
Morning started off slow with my first bite around 800.. 1.5lb bass
Finally get another bite on the Mice tail.. Get the fish on the stringer and get the line back in the water. As I grab my jig rod it gets hit.. Fish on.. About two seconds later the second rod gets hit again.
Double hook up ! I land both of them- two more nice stockers.
Continue to work the area a while for nothing so I decide to try out some of the new Sierra Slammer swimbaits i had.. After about fifteen minutes I get slammed on the swimbait and I'm hooked into something nice.. Makes a big run and keeps going so I chase him down in my tube. Took me about 7-8min or so to get him into the net- made a few nice runs on me... This is the biggest trout I've caught at irvine(previous was a 4.8lb) @ 6.85lb
Got my limit by 1015 between boat dock and west shore
got me a pin from the tackle shop :Big Grin: and headed home
